SETTING PANELS - EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
List
of the subjects that have a setting panel.
The role of a setting panel is to assist the Chief
Assessor in the:
- development of the examination paper (for example,
providing possible examination items or questions, sourcing potential
examination materials);
- preparation of successive drafts of the examination
paper for consideration by the examination vetting panel;
- development of any assessment materials that
may accompany an examination (for example, recording of a CD);
- maintenance of the integrity, confidentiality,
and security of examination materials.
Required Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
Members of setting panels should have:
- relevant qualifications and/or recent studies;
- experience and expertise in senior secondary
assessment;
- knowledge of the relevant curriculum statement;
- teaching experience at senior secondary or tertiary
level in the relevant subject;
- ability to meet deadlines.
Special Conditions
Members of setting panels will be required to:
- work to a strict timetable
to ensure that examination papers are developed in the first half
of the year. The Chief Examiner will construct a schedule for the
development of the examination paper;
- abide by SSABSA's Code
of Practice and the Code
of Conduct for South Australian Public Sector Employees, March
2005;
- declare any potential conflict
of interest at the time of appointment.
