MARKING PANELS - EXTERNAL ASSESSMENTS

Marking panel list of subjects.

Note: Expressions of interest for 2008 marking panels must be received at SSABSA by no later than 4 July 2008.

The role of a marking panel is to:

• undertake the marking of external assessment components under the direction of the Chief Assessor or Supervisor;
• undertake this task within a strict time-limit in accordance with the published schedule;
• provide written reports to the Chief Assessor.

Required Skills, Experience, and Knowledge

Members of marking panels should have:

• relevant qualifications and/or recent studies;
• experience and expertise in senior secondary assessment;
• knowledge of the relevant curriculum statement;
• teaching experience at senior secondary or tertiary level in the relevant subject;
• ability to meet deadlines.

Special Conditions

Members of marking panels will be required to:

• attend training meetings at SSABSA before beginning marking tasks;
• return marked external assessments to SSABSA in accordance with the schedule;
• abide by SSABSA's Code of Practice and the Code of Conduct for South Australian Public Sector Employees, March 2005;
• declare any potential conflict of interest at the time of appointment.
