General Conditions
Approved graphics calculators and scientific calculators
- Students who wish to use calculators must provide them or
be allocated a calculator by the SACE coordinator.
- Students may bring two calculators into the examination.
- Calculators must be used silently.
- Students have access to a special provision
in assessment (assessment misadventure) for incidents that occur
outside of their control in an external examination. Flat
batteries or an inadequate power source are not included in this
provision.
- Removable covers of calculators and instruction booklets
may not be taken into the examination room.
Specific Conditions
Approved graphics calculators in Mathematics
external examinations: Mathematical Methods Stage 2, Mathematical
Studies Stage 2, Specialist Mathematics Stage 2
- Students are not required to clear the memory of graphics
calculators, but computer algebra systems (CAS) and interactive
geometry capabilities are not permissible.
- Students may bring two unfolded A4 pages of handwritten notes
into the examination. Calculator manuals are not permitted in
the examination, but key sequences may be included in the handwritten
notes.
- Students may bring two calculators
into the examination. One of these may be a scientific calculator.
Approved graphics calculators in non-mathematics
external examinations
- Students must clear the memory of their graphics calculators.
- Students are not permitted to bring any notes into the examination.
